About

By this time KRS-One was mentoring a younger generation of urban storytellers, some of whom appear here in the string of interludes (Method Man, Jeru the Damaja) and some of whom guest on the songs themselves (Fat Joe, Channel Live, Das Efx, Busta Rhymes). This album is very relaxed—almost as though KRS-One had simply to dip his mighty ladle into the creative juices of the culture he'd helped create and spoon the contents into this album. “De Automatic,” “MC’s Act Like They Don’t Know," and “Ah-Yeah” are just a few of the songs that will reanimate sense memories of a Gotham that no longer exists.
