About
Mark Kozelek is famous (or infamous, depending) for his intensely personal concerts. This collection of live and rare recordings from 1996 to 2007 is a great example of why. Ghosts of the Great Highway’s “Carry Me Ohio,” originally a languid, beauty-filled rumination, here becomes a hard-hitting, grungy rocker; April's “Heron Blue” is a stripped-down wonder backed by drums. The softly moving “Leo and Luna” is a real treat for hardcore fans; up until Nights, it was a rare, deep cut.
