About
Dead Can Dance’s fourth album is a soaring flight of baroque fantasy, full of sumptuous vocals, lush strings, and reverberating bells, somewhere in between The Lord of the Rings and a medieval midnight mass. The Australian duo draw from a worldly selection of languages and musical traditions: "Chant of the Paladin" and "Echolalia" achieve a striking balance of Middle Eastern vibes and dramatic percussion, while gothic synths form a backdrop for angelic choral tricks on "Mother Tongue" and movie-soundtrack favorite "The Host of Seraphim."
