About

The French record label Lolita was interested in the ‘80s Paisley Underground scene in Los Angeles when it discovered Scott Miller and Game Theory making records up north in Davis, Calif. 1984’s Dead Center was the result of combining tracks from the group’s previous two EPs with a cover of The Box Tops’ “The Letter.” This 2014 reissue adds previously unreleased recordings, including covers of Badfinger’s “No Matter What,” R.E.M.’s “Radio Free Europe,” Roxy Music’s “Mother of Pearl,” and Them’s classic “Gloria.” A rare flexi-disc version of “Dead Center” and live versions of Game Theory favorites further enhance this reissue.
