About
Massachusetts trio Pvris were originally a high-decibel metalcore band. Encouraged by producer Blake Harnage of emo-rockers VersaEmerge though, they’ve embraced emotive synth-pop on this debut. Singer/guitarist Lyndsey Gunnulfsen’s fascination with the supernatural darkens the bold hooks on “White Noise” and “My House”, while “St Vincent” soundtracks her soul searching with a bracing synthesis of electro pulses and arena-sized choruses. Throughout, it’s this collision of vibrancy and gloom that makes Pvris a compelling proposition.
