About

Andrew McMahon, who’d been the guiding voice and songwriter of Something Corporate and Jack’s Mannequin, goes the solo route as Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness. As a cancer survivor, McMahon has an unusually deep connection to the vagaries of life, while the birth of his daughter brought him happiness and inspired the grand radio pop of “Cecilia and the Satellite” with its Bastille-like breakout of "ohs" and "whoas." “All Our Lives,” “Black and White Movies,” and “Driving Through a Dream” capture the otherworldly glitz and glamour of modern pop music. The somber piano-based “See Her on the Weekend” speaks to loved ones missed.
