The members of Cool Ghouls grew up in San Francisco's outer suburbs and moved to the city proper as soon as possible, meeting one another and forming a band based on their heroes like Creedence Clearwater Revival, Jefferson Airplane, and The Flamin’ Groovies. This second album was recorded live to tape by Sonny Smith (Sonny & The Sunsets) and mastered by Mikey Young (Total Control). It shows a skilled garage rock band capturing The Byrds’ jangle and harmonies, The 13th Floor Elevators’ brazen psychedelia, and the raw energy of The Troggs and The Seeds in songs like “And It Grows,” “The Mile,” the seven-minute “Insight,” and “Across the River.”
