About

This LP is only a portion of a 1957 studio session which ended up producing no fewer than 16 solo tracks. Erroll Garner is in great form on this solo date, beginning with a lively "You'd Be So Nice to Come Home To" that evokes both his bouncing basslines and his inherent lyricism. Unlike most interpretations, his arrangement of "If I Had You" leans more toward outright joy versus mere hopefulness. A long exploration of "Don't Take Your Love From Me" finds him in a gentle mood, as he softly states his musical plea for his unseen lover to remain. .
