For Turnstile, hardcore punk is a dish best served eclectic. In addition to meting out plenty of youth-crew-style beatdowns, the East Coast bruisers take bold detours into rap metal and alt-rock. Turbo-charged vocalist Brendan Yates leads the attack, swinging ruthlessly from the rabid yawp of pit-igniter “Addicted” to the furious flow that punctuates a breakdown-strewn “Can’t Deny It.” Giving their loyal moshers a minute to catch their breath, the band offer up “Blue by You,” a slice of heartbroken garage punk that underscores Turnstile’s surprising versatility.
