More than 30 years after he originally debuted with The Jam, UK modfather Paul Weller proved with <i>22 Dreams</i> that he was as omnivorous and charged as ever. The title track sees him demonstrating his classic touch for bopping New Wave, while "Echoes Round the Sun" could show Oasis a thing or two about Union Jack-waving arena rock. "Light Nights" is a finely plucked pastoral musing on aging, and "Song for Alice" finds Weller taking some Afrobeat grooves out for a stroll.
