The album was produced by Rick James and Art Stewart The album contained the US R&B #1 ( Overall US Charts #13 ) hit - "You And I" where Rick talks about the relationship of the two characters in the song that are "as close as three-part harmony". and US R&B #3 ( US Charts #41 ) hit - "Mary Jane" which could be interpreted as a song about a woman .
