About
Jason Molina passed away on March 16, 2013; in his final decade he suffered from the alcoholism that took him too soon. In his music, his deep empathy for human nature and his keen ear for the beauty of his Midwestern surroundings turned industrial wastelands into poetry. 2002’s Didn’t It Rain was one of several major works Molina released as Songs: Ohia. This 2014 deluxe edition includes the acoustic demos that sketched out the final sessions, plus two tracks (“The Gray Tour,” “Spectral Alphabet”) that further exhaust the vaults. Molina went through several prolific periods before he lost his way. These recordings play like confessions.
