Primo dance-punk crew !!! (pronounced Chk Chk Chk) prove they have zero intention of slowing down on this agile sixth album. Since forming in the late ‘90s, the collective have gone from rocking house parties to major festival crowds, releasing an album every three years since their 2001 debut. <i>As If</i> sees frontman Nic Offer and Co. as animated as ever, revelling in loose-hipped genre-mashing medleys—from elastic funk (“All U Writer”) and indie pop disco (“Every Little Bit Counts”) to lovably freaky post-punk soul (“Bam City”).
