About
Live jazz is all about the magical moments that couldn’t have been replicated at any other time or place. Such was the case with this stunning 1969 meeting of Les McCann’s funky trio with guests Eddie Harris on saxophone and Benny Bailey on trumpet. The album opens with the massive one-two punch of the soul-jazz classic (and pop hit) “Compared to What” and Harris’ now-iconic rave-up “Cold Duck Time,” but the freewheeling set sustains that momentum 'til the very last note.
