Less edgy but more darkly introspective than their early work, <i>Pretty</i> turns the band’s outward aggression in, spinning bleak stories about domestic violence (“Punchin’ Bag”) and missing people (“Sweetie Little Jean”) through the frayed, frail, and ferocious vocals of Matt Shultz.
