About
For their second studio album, Utopia initially cut a mostly instrumental disco/funk album, rejected by their label and released years later as Disco Jets. After dusting themselves off, the band returned to the elaborate art-rock of their debut. Pared down to a quartet, Utopia shifted to the lineup that would last them the rest of their run. While there are a few shorter cuts with simpler arrangements, like the hard-rocking "Jealousy" and the soul-tinged "Eternal Love," tunes like the 18-minute conceptual closing cut, "Singring and the Glass Guitar," set the tone while still maintaining a sense of humor (no easy feat).
