About
On his second album, Redman found his distinct voice, somewhere between party-starting and over-the-top braggadocio. “Can’t Wait” is definitely the former, using a sample of Mary Jane Girls’ “All Night Long” to build a ‘90s house-party anthem. Elsewhere, on “Noorotic,” Redman alternates between boasts and threats, sounding engagingly frantic over a mellow funk beat. But the album is mostly fun—“Slide And Rock On” is yet another party ode with a choir of Redman’s sped-up vocals at its opening.
