Rob Zombie’s D-grade horror-movie universe gets deeper, richer, and weirder with each album. Made between movie shoots, <i>Warlock</i> mixes violent, glammy metal with queasy synths, bits of movie dialogue, and Zombie’s inimitable—if unintelligible—bark for a sound as slick as oil and corrosive as acid. Only one of the tracks here even clears three minutes, making the songs feel more like surrealistic vignettes in a long, bad trip. As always, Zombie’s priorities are clear: sex, drugs, and monsters, together if possible, as on the highlights “Well, Everybody’s F***ing in a U.F.O.” and “In the Age of the Consecrated Vampire, We All Get High.”
