Following in the footsteps of peers like Skrillex and Tiësto, Knife Party are releasing their debut album well into their reign as fixtures on the EDM scene. Rather than serve to introduce the Australian duo, <i>Abandon Ship</i> instead delivers on the promise of their many singles, remixes, and headlining gigs. Bombastic bass abounds. The trap colossus "Boss Mode" limbos under screaming sirens and gurgling synths, while "Begin Again" is melodious electro-house and "Give It Up" fuses dancehall with concussive dubstep. Having already slayed EDM's biggest festivals, Knife Party give themselves fresh ammunition on this full-length.
