About

Abandon is the sixteenth studio album by Deep Purple. It was recorded in Orlando in 1997 and 1998 and released On June, 2nd 1998. The final song on Abandon, "Bludsucker", is a re-recording of an old Purple song "Bloodsucker" from their 1970 album, In Rock. "Don't Make Me Happy" was accidentally mastered in mono during the album's production stage but the band decided not to change it for the official release. The album was followed by a tour called "A Band On Tour". Songs from this album were hardly ever played after the end of "A Band On Tour", although as of late 2010, "Almost Human" suprisingly returned to the live set. It was the second and last album recorded by Deep Purple Mark VII, which featured: Ian Gillan Steve Morse Roger Glover Jon Lord Ian Paice .
