Released only in North America, Airborn is an alternate version of the worldwide release of the album Platinum that replaces "Woodhenge" with the non-album single "Guilty".
Some editions of Airborn include a second bonus disc, squeezed in the single sleeve and not mentioned on the cover. This second bonus disc includes the following:
- On side A: an otherwise unavailable live version of "Tubular Bells Part 1" recorded live during Oldfield's 1979 tour. This version is different to the version on Exposed; it features John Gorman as Master of Ceremony introducing the instruments and musicians at the end of the song (the Exposed version doesn't have any MC) and was recorded on 06.05.1979 at the Birmingham N.E.C..
- On side B: a unique version of Incantations, alternating studio version and live takes from the 1979 tour, expertly segued to make a continuous piece. It is not known whether the live excerpts are taken from the album Exposed or if they are from another concert. "Incantations" is followed by the end of "Tubular Bells Part 2" and "The Sailor's Hornpipes" recorded live in 1979 too, but these two last tracks are not mentioned on the LP.
