Animals Have Feelings is an Electronic album by Samiyam, originally released in 2016. On Gatefold: 2 pressings tracked.
About
Seemingly inspired by the abbreviated beat tapes of fellow Michigan expat J Dilla, L.A. beat scene producer Samiyam expertly assembles sparse sample snippets into an LP's worth of bubbling grooves. Whether it's the staggered snare snap on “Kimchee,” the stumbling toms of “Taco Chase,” or the title track's woozy bass, each composition comes deliciously close to falling apart before its brief run time is up. The quick closures and torpid tempos balance out to create a well-paced instrumental experience that highlights rare raps by guests like Earl Sweatshirt, Action Bronson, and Jeremiah Jae.
