The front cover of <i>Barchords</i> captures the record's folk-pop sound in a peaceful photograph: intimate, slick, and more than just a little sun-dappled. “Caught Me Thinkin” is straight-up tropical, with a sweet little guitar hook that chimes in here and there between Afie Jurvanen’s catchy, kicked-back vocal melody. He pulls way back on the cloudy “Overjoyed” for soft, bluesy soul and ends on the rootsy, piano-led soft pop of “Be My Witness,” a gorgeous marriage proposal set to music.
