Like 2012’s <i>A Different Ship</i>, the fourth album from Brooklyn-based Here We Go Magic is a soft-focus swirl of 70s-style art-rock reminiscent of Brian Eno before he went ambient or Genesis without the dragons. A cozy but densely layered album, <i>Be Small</i>’s warm production rubs away the hard edges of uptempo standouts like “Candy Apple,” and turns ballads like “Girls in the Early Morning” into sonic hot air balloons—pretty, distant, and featherlight.
