About
Canadian artist Koushik folds soft, supple '60s psych pop into a groovy mix of jazz and hip-hop on this smooth-flowing mix. Compiling tracks from three previous EPs, <i>Be With</i> is a series of delicately crafted vignettes. As quickly as he puts in layers of sleepy vocals ("Be With"), light psychedelic guitar ("Pretty Soon"), and blasts of brass ("Battle Rhymes for Battle Times"), he lets them slip out into the ether. Still, it all remains coolly grounded by skittering jazz drums and Madlib-inspired beats.
