Being Funny in a Foreign Language is the fifth studio album by English band the 1975, released on 14 October, 2022 by Dirty Hit. The album was first teased on June 1, 2022 when the band posted to their previously empty Instagram page with the caption: "Your new album. Your new era. Your old friends. The 1975". The album title and track listing were revealed to fans through postcards. The album is set to start off with an introduction track titled "The 1975", the same as their last four albums. The band released its first single from the album "Part.
