Bio by Chuck Berry

Bio is a Rock album by Chuck Berry, originally released in 1973. On Gatefold: 23 pressings tracked.

About

Bio was released in August 1973 on Chess Records, catalogue CH 50043. Following the massive commercial success of his London sessions, the album took a distinctly different musical approach by focusing heavily on autobiographical themes and nostalgic storytelling. On several tracks, Berry was backed by the prominent jazz-rock and blues group The Elephant's Memory, alongside his longtime musical partner Johnnie Johnson. The tracklist was defined by its autobiographical title track, "Bio," which offered a lyrical retrospective of his own life and musical journey up to that point. Although the record did not generate any major hit singles and missed the Billboard Top LPs chart, it remains a unique entry in his catalog due to these nostalgic themes.
