About

Neil Young once claimed he wrote "Mr. Soul," this album's hard-stomping opener and only hit, in less than five minutes. Such was the brilliance—and impetuousness—of Buffalo Springfield's embattled members. Horns bring a Motown-like jolt to the rollicking R&B of "Good Time Boy," while, abetted by an uncredited David Crosby, Stephen Stills elevates the psychedelic "Rock & Roll Woman" with sublime Crosby, Stills & Nash–like harmonies. Stills' sprawling "Bluebird" remains one of the most underrated epics of the '60s.
