About

Butcher the Weak is the second full-length album by American brutal death metal band Devourment, originally self-released in 2005, and later re-recorded and reissued in 2006 by Brutal Band. brutality. While not overly technical, the album focuses on brutality and heavine, stripping away melody and complexity in favor of sheer blunt-force trauma. The original 2005 version was performed solely by Ruben Rosa, who handled all vocals and instrument. The re-recorded 2006 version featured a full lineup and became the widely circulated edition. The 2006 reissue features improved production, tighter performance, and added bass and has a yellow hue shown on the cover instead of blue. Devourment is considered one of the pioneers of slam death metal, and Butcher the Weak helped solidify their status after a long hiatus following Molesting the Decapitated (1999). It became a blueprint for modern slam, influencing countless underground bands and label. Mike Majewski Vocals (lead) Ruben Rosas Guitar, Ba, Vocals (backing) (tracks 2, 4, 5, 8) Eric Park Drums Guest/Session .
