About

Release info/Press release Modern psyche/rock trio VIRUS combine the post rock machinations of TORTOISE with the singular, almost autistic riffage of prime SLAYER with the twisted avant garde appeal of the THE RESIDENTS. VIRUS features the singular guitar wizardry of Carl-Michael Eide aka Czral's cult ensemble VED BUENS ENDE, the unchallenged fret talents of AUDIOPAIN's Petter 'Plenum' Berntsen and the rhythmic schizo-frenetics of Einar 'Esso' Sjursø (BEYOND DAWN). Join the ride. Trip down the road to asymmetric glory. Traffic jam above the high-speed cloud. Lapse of navigation. Fall asleep tomorrow afternoon. Ghost whirl locomotive. Spin around until dizzy. Street numb motorist. Places between car and man. The mechanic grin of a dog sticking its head out of the window flashing by. Bandits on the sidewalk. Unending crossroad. Tender touch of the gasoline queen. Deafening roar of the engine. Regain consciousness as the sun is reddening. Sirens make the air coagulate. Intimate parties in the basement of a pick-up truck. Men without driver's licenses rule the road. Cruising toward magnificent accident. Picking up hitchhiking whale. Trip down the road not taken in a parked wreck. You are not moving. The road i. Cut press: “It's dismal, it's distorted, it's sad and beautiful. Hectic drumming, twisting, atonal guitar, psychedelic drone, rubbery ba, swooning, dramatic vocal, atmospheric, uh, atmosphere... Lyrically, it's equally as cryptic, and the CD graphics only spawn further confusion. Carheart? Cars? Dog-headed men? What's going on?” - Aquarius “Dog-headed people, car, obsolete electronics - what does it all mean? The lyrics and accompanying CD graphics appear to be the product of a week-long acid binge. Is there some sense to be made of all this? Or have these guys just completely flipped out? Either way, this is one Virus you definitely want to be infected with.” – Joemetal “A truly exciting trip into three men’s insane mind." - Musique Machine .
