By the time this album was recorded in December 1974, Curved Air actually didn't really exist - they had split up in Summer 1973 shortly after the release of the commercially unsuccesfull album Air Cut. If they were able to record this live album during a 3-week one-off reformation tour, it was only to resolve outstanding business matters appertaining to the group's past: they were being sued by Chrysalis, whose agency contract they'd broken, and they were forced to pay a huge bill.
It was agreed in advance that no further involvement was required from the musicians after the completion of the live album, but eventually, after the tour, Sonja Kristina and Darryl Way pledged to keep the band's name alive once more and assembled a new line-up that would record the album Midnight Wire in 1975.
