As the reigning overlords of “gore metal,” Exhumed are renowned throughout the underground for their lurid tales of blood, guts, and mayhem. On their sixth album, the California band saw off their first concept record, recounting a true story of murder, grave robbery, and dissection from 1820s Scotland across 13 tracks of ripping death metal. Led by the beastly twin-vocal attack of mastermind/guitarist Matt Harvey and newly returned bassist Ross Sewage, Exhumed combine frenzied riffing and inhuman drumming to create a grisly blasterpiece.
