Featuring the return of Ronnie James Dio’s gale-force pipes, 1992’s <i>Dehumanizer</i> revives the epic flights of <i>Heaven and Hell</i> and <i>Mob Rules</i>. The hurtling “TV Crimes” features a fire-breathing Dio riding raw, punk-inspired power chords, and “Sins of the Father” leaves listeners dazed with the overpowering crunch of guitarist Tony Iommi’s harmonic shrieks and contortions. Dio’s lyrics often delve into sci-fi, but on the shadowy, supernatural ballad “Too Late,” he returns to Sabbath’s favorite themes of evil and damnation.
