About

Alice In Chains’ <i>Dirt</i> casts an unnerving spell unlike anything else from the grunge explosion. Driven by relentlessly aggressive but rhythmically slippery riffs, “Would?” and “God Smack” give Layne Staley a chance to explore a vocal arsenal that encompasses bluesy wails, unholy screams, and guttural growls. While “Dirt” and “Hate to Feel” are some of the darkest dirges since Black Sabbath’s prime, the album peaks with “Down in a Hole” and “Rooster,” a pair of spooky, majestic ballads that alter the idea of what a slow-burning hard rock song can sound like.

This limited edition 2CD set is housed in a slim double jewel case that's contained within a slipcase. Includes a folding 12-page / poster booklet for 'Dirt'. Artwork for 'Facelift' is only shown as part of the inner tray artwork.
Released: September 20th 1993 (The ARIA Report Issue #189).
White circular hype sticker with red text reads, "Specially priced Twin CD Bonus Pack 474570 2".
Some copies have a gold 'Promotional Only Not For Sale' stamp on the back of the slipcase.
'Hate to Feel' is listed as track 9 on the 'Dirt' disc and tray artwork, but is actually track 10 (...subsequently 'Would?' is track 13).
Track 1-9 is an unlisted track — a parody/tribute to the intro of Black Sabbath's song 'Iron Man'.
Tom Araya actually says "I Am Iron Gland".
