On the surface, its surreal narrative chronicles the story of George Leroy Tirebiter, a former child actor who now wastes his time watching his old movies on television. But the storyline is really a launchpad for The Firesign Theatre’s satirical takedown of Cold War-era America and its addiction to crass commercialism and unwavering patriotism.
