Daniel Powter (also known as DP) is the self-titled second studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter Daniel Powter, released on July 26, 2005 in Canada and on April 11, 2006 in the United States. The album debuted at #9 on the Billboard 200 with 89,213 copies sold that week. As of 12 July 2006, Daniel Powter has sold 464,136 copies in the U.S. The album debuted on the Japanese Oricon charts at an extremely low #242. However, the album slowly climbed the charts and peaked at #4. The album eventually became the #18 album of 2006 in Japan with 583,611 copies sold and the highest Western artist on the yearly charts. The album was certified Gold in the U.S. on May 24, 2006.
