About
The traditional-style country songs on Easy Come, Easy Go may be catchy and straightforward, but George Strait still fills them with nuance and emotional complexity. On the string-backed “Without Me Around,” a man reflects on his divorce, trying to understand his ex-wife’s perspective on why their marriage didn’t work. Meanwhile, the breakup described in the lighthearted title track is easy and mutual, with the smooth singer using the separation as material for a honky-tonk meditation on the many connections we make through life.
