About
"Ege Bamyası" (Turkish for "Aegean okra") is the third studio album by the German krautrock band Can, released on 29 November 1972 by United Artists Records. The album includes the single "Spoon", which reached the top ten of the German singles chart after being used as the theme song for the television miniseries "Das Messer" (1971). The commercial success of the single enabled the band to establish their own recording facility, Inner Space Studio, in Weilerswist, where much of the album was completed. In December 1971, Can relocated their studio from Schloss Nörvenich to a former cinema in Weilerswist near.
