Composer Tobias Sammet expands Avantasia’s cast of all-star vocalists: Geoff Tate’s dramatic flair is a perfect fit for the operatic “Seduction of Decay,” while on the epic “Let the Storm Descend Upon You,” a ferocious Jørn Lande howls like the wind. And the punchy art rock of “Mystery of a Blood Red Rose” is proof that Sammet’s talents extend far beyond the power metal genre.
