The third studio album by Delirious?, GLO is a wonderful blend of modern rock and worship. The sounds range from heavy to surreal, but Delirious? proves that they are just as competent with slow, ethereal styles as they are with pop-expressive melodies and driving rock. Additionally, Delirious? incorporates a full string quartet, the gospel lead of Sharlene Hector, a chorus of three bagpipes, the Arun Community Church Choir, the Grant Choir, DJ Kenny Mitchell, and even the Monks of Ampleforth Valley used for a traditional monasterial sound (recorded at Ampleforth Abbey, in Yorkshire). These diverse musical voices do not play as if thrown in as an afterthought, but blend well with the album's other content. There are four tracks titled "GLO In The Dark", and each is a continuation of the song before it. After singing the verses and choruses, Delirious? doesn't fear what they would sound like without lyrics. The songs ebb and grow as they play. Informal though it may seem, it simply is just more fun to listen to a band that is having fun; after listening, you'll agree that Delirious? is nothing less than pasionate.
