"Head Over Heels" was the second and last 'general release' single off "The Visitors", released in the spring of 1982. "The Visitors" was the B-side.
Seemingly a happy song, the A-side somehow fails to deliver, which was reflected in the chart performance and marked the beginning of the group's decline in popularity. The single only made #25 in the UK, breaking the run of 18 consecutive Top 10 hits (which started in 1975). Worth noting is that the track was omitted from "The Singles (opens in a new tab)", the group's first career-spanning compilation, the following year. A different A-side was, once again, chosen in the US, although this time the sides were merely switched - see "The Visitors (opens in a new tab)".
As with the previous single, a unique cover art was created in the UK. In other countries, the same photo was used on all designs.
