About
Note: The 2010 re-release of the album adds a bonus track, Chaos hermétique (11:52). Heresie (also spelt as Hérésie, translating as Heresy) is the second album by Belgian rock in opposition/chamber rock group Univers Zero, recorded in March 1979 and released later in the same year. Heresie is considered the band's darkest album and has been referred to as some of the darkest music on record, despite featuring mostly acoustic instrumentation; it has also been likened to a horror movie soundtrack, which is fitting given that the band's previous name before Univers Zero (Necronomicon) had been taken from the writings of H. P. Lovecraft. It is also guitarist Roger Trigaux's final release with Univers Zero before departing to form Present. The songs are fairly long even by progressive rock standards: although the original release of the album contains only three track, it runs for nearly fifty-two minute. A 2010 re-release remixes the original three songs and adds a bonus track that was recorded in 1975 with a slightly different lineup. Trigaux later reused portions of this song in the Present songs "Ersatz" (from Le Poison qui rend fou), "The Limping Little Girl", and "Ceux d'en bas (Suite)" (both from No. 6). Complete track list: 1. La Faulx (Daniel Denis) - 25:19 2. Jack the Ripper (Daniel Deni, Roger Trigaux) - 13:29 3. Vous le saurez en temps voulu (Roger Trigaux) - 12:56 4. Chaos hermétique (Roger Trigaux) - 11:52 (bonus track) Personnel: Roger Trigaux (1-4): guitar, piano, organ, harmonium Guy Segers (1-4): ba, voice Michel Berckmans (1-3): oboe, bassoon Patrick Hanappier (1-4): violin, viola Daniel Denis (1-4): drum, percussion Vincent Motoulle (4): keyboards French language translations and miscellany: "La Faulx" translates as "The Scythe", though it is using an archaic spelling from Middle French. "Vous le saurez in temps voulu" translates as "You'll Know It in Due Course." "Chaos hermétique" translates as "Hermetic Chaos". (Some sources list the title as Chaos hermetique instead.) .
