The 'godfather' of rap, Lightnin' Rod also goes by the names Alafia Pudim or Jalaluddin Mansur Nuriddin on The Last Poets albums.
Kool & The Gang is the backing group for tracks 1, 7, and 9. It should be noted that the backing band for tracks 2-5 and 8, although not identified as such, is actually a version of Full Moon, the Howard 'Buzzy' Feiten/Neil Larsen band that was signed to Warner Bros at the time. Also, again not credited as such, the players for tracks 6, 10, and 12 were almost all performing or recording members of The Chuck Rainey Coalition at that time.
