About
Chicago blues songwriter/bassist Willie Dixon did most of his work behind the scenes, but here he lays claim to his incredible legacy, delivering new versions of classics he penned for Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, and Willie Mabon. While Dixon and drummer Clifton James inject some funk into "Back Door Man," most of the tunes—from spooky stomper "I Ain't Superstitious" to the simmering, sensual "You Shook Me" and randy slow-burner "Little Red Rooster"—receive an old-school treatment, with Dixon's authoritative vocals commanding the spotlight for a change.
