The album, sans the last track, reads like a narrative play, telling the tale of Atrament, an occultist and student in Jilemnice, and his plight with Poebeldorf, a false captain masquerading as Satrapold, who jails Atrament and attempts to serenade Calamaria, a fellow occultist and the daughter of Spiritu, owner of the local pub. Calamaria discovers Poebeldorf's true identity, and he is put in prison once Satrapold, the true captain of Jilemnice, arrive. The final track is somewhat of a bonus and is an inscription on a stone outside of a house that reads somewhat like an epitaph. .
