Kalimba De Luna - 16 Happy Songs With Boney M.

"Kalimba De Luna" is a compilation that brings together many Boney M. tracks not released on any studio album at the time, although in edited form, apparently to fit close to 30 minutes on both vinyl sides. The track list picks up where the "The Magic Of Boney M. - 20 Golden Hits" compilation (which also includes mostly edits) from 1980 left off. "Kalimba" is more varied than the hit packed "Magic", as many album tracks are included. Curiously, many single A-sides are missing: "Malaika" (definitely a 'happy' song), "We Kill the World", "Little Drummer Boy" and "The Carnival Is Over". The 'happy songs' subtitle seems to have been used simply to highlight the current hit at the time, "Happy Song", as many tracks included are not 'happy' what comes to lyrics.
"Calendar Song" is a previously unreleased remix. "Jimmy" is the re-recorded version, previously released on the "10.000 Lightyears" album. The closing track "Boonoonoonoos" is in fact "That's Boonoonoonoos/Train To Skaville", the 'middle' part of the medley on the "Boonoonoonoos" album.
The 2007 reissue features a heavily changed tracklist (and drops the subtitle "16 Happy Songs"), due to many titles on the 1984 track list having been used as bonus tracks on the 2007 studio album reissues. Only three are tracks exactly the same as on the 1984 issue ("Happy Song, "Kalimba De Luna" and "Felicidad"). Further five titles appear in longer versions. The rest are the four 'new' tracks and "Ma Baker (Remix '93)" taken from 1993's "More Gold - 20 Super Hits Vol. II", the non-album "Hooray! Hooray! It's A Holi-Holiday" and 1981 B-side medley "Boney M. On 45".
Some unofficial releases further jumble the track list by including even more rare tracks: "School's Out", "Babysitter" and "Mother And Child Reunion".
