This master release is for editions featuring the Bob Lamb production of "Kiss Me", recorded in 1982.
Release dates:
• Nov. 1982: original UK 7" & 12" (TIN 1 / TIN 1T).
• 1983: US, Canada and Japan releases with the François Kevorkian remix.
• Jan. 1984: UK releases with the François Kevorkian remix (X 9823, X 9823T, SAM 160T).
• 1984(?): other European releases with the François Kevorkian remix.
The 1984 releases often state only ℗ 1982 on them, reflecting the release year for the original mixes of the recordings.
The remix release charted in the UK for 3 weeks in 1984 (11, 18 and 25 February, at #89, #78 and #89, respectively) and then again on 05 May (#88).
Another recording of the song, not yet in Discogs, was reportedly produced in 1984 and released only in the West Midlands area of the UK.
In late 1984, a new recording was produced by J.J. Jeczalik and Nicholas Froome. Upon its release in 1985, it became a huge hit. See Kiss Me.
