Laura Pausini’s self-titled debut album, Laura Pausini, was released on May 18, 1993, by CGD Records (Warner). This album marked her breakthrough in the Italian music scene and introduced her to international audiences. The album features the hit single “La solitudine,” which won the newcomer artists’ section at the 43rd Sanremo Music Festival and became a defining song in her career. Following its success in Italy, where it sold over 400,000 copies, the album was later released in Europe, Australia, and Japan, with worldwide sales exceeding two million copies. Laura Pausini achieved commercial success, charting in multiple countries. In Belgium and Portugal, it reached number one on the albums chart, while in France, it peaked at number 35. The album’s blend of Latin pop and adult contemporary genres, combined with Pausini’s emotive vocals, laid the foundation for her international career.
