About

“If I was to describe my music, I would say that it’s a vibe,” Ice Spice tells Apple Music. “It’s for the baddies that get it, for the confident people, for the people that get money. It's just music to feel good to, to get ready to, to work out to.” The 23-year-old rapper, born Isis Gaston, rose to mainstream fame when her drill track “Munch (Feelin’ U)” went viral on TikTok in 2022 thanks to Ice’s swaggering and cutthroat bars bouncing off producer RIOTUSA’s beats. With the rising popularity of “Munch” and an ever-growing fanbase eagerly awaiting new music, Ice surprised fans with her six-track debut EP Like..? in January 2023. This deluxe version adds on a few more. Produced entirely by RIOTUSA, Like..? continues to expand upon Ice’s cool-girl rhymes and memorable one-liners. “Like..? just feels very like home to me,” she tells Apple Music. “It feels very much like a Bronx story and just a baddie from the Bronx just telling her truth and just vibing, feeling herself.” On the opener “In Ha Mood,” Ice flaunts her viral success and has a couple of words for her critics who are envious of her accomplishments: “They like, ‘Ice, how you always stay hot?’/Oh, they mad ’cause I keep makin’ bops/Oh, she mad ’cause I'm takin' her spot/If I was bitches, I'd hate me a lot,” she boasts. Throughout the EP, Ice delivers cheeky, braggadocious lines about her wealth and compares herself to royalty on “Princess Diana,” looks for a potential lover on the Lil Tjay-assisted track “Gangsta Boo,” and is nonchalant towards a cheating ex on the New Jersey club track “Actin a Smoochie.” Ice confidently expresses it throughout RIOT’s beats and delivers each bar effortlessly. “It’s so hard to explain because everybody’s always like, ‘How does it work? How does it work?’ But I can't really explain it. It just works,” Ice says about the producer. “Sometimes you meet a great collaborator, and you just do great things.”
