This live recording was done on the behest of the BBC.
The 90 minute concert was aired on June 6th 1974 (also in Quadrophonic).
A one hour BBC Transcription Record was also cut for use by Radio Stations outside the UK which became the source of half a dozen vinyl bootlegs in the seventies.
In May 1982 the stereo tapes were mastered to produce the album, issued by EMI that August.
In Japan the album was given a straight transfer to CD in 1989.
In 2004 it was reissued in Japan again incl "Space Truckin'".
In 2007 it was again reissued finally in Europe in remastered quality including the left off track "Space Truckin'".
